COMFORT & PRESSURE RELIEF

FIBERS
Different fibers play a crucial role in enhancing overall comfort and sleep quality. Natural fibers such as cotton and wool are often favored for their breathability and moisture-wicking properties, which help regulate temperature and keep the sleeper dry throughout the night. Synthetic fibers like polyester can provide excellent cushioning for added comfort. Blends of these fibers can also be used, allowing manufacturers to create a balanced combination of softness and durability.
FOAMS
Foams are one of the most common ways for enhancing the comfort of mattresses by providing cushioning that adapts to the body's contours. Additionally, the foam's resilience contributes to the overall durability of the mattress, ensuring long-term comfort and support. This adaptability ensures that sleepers experience a comfortable, restful night, regardless of their preferred sleeping position.
NANO COILS
Microcoils are one of the industry’s newest materials for enhancing comfort. With thousands of small coils that cradle the body, layers of microcoils are an eco-friendly method for extended comfort life of a mattress with a latex-like feel. Additionally, individual coils help reduce motion from a sleeping partner and extremely durable material.
HOW DO COMFORT MATERIALS AFFECT SLEEP?
Comfort is described as "what you feel when you initially lay down on a mattress" versus pressure-relief which is how a material conforms to the body to distribute body weight, reducing pressure from sensitive body points. These materials in mattresses are crucial for sleep quality and relieving pressure.
Comfort is a personal preference and each of these materials has a range of qualities, densities and features that influences its performance.

PRESSURE RELIEF

LATEX
Latex Foam (Natural or Synthetic): Latex foam offers a responsive, springy feel with excellent durability. It provides pressure relief and support similar to memory foam but with more bounce and better breathability. Natural latex is eco-friendly and hypoallergenic, while synthetic latex tends to be more affordable.
MEMORY FOAM
Memory foam is known for its ability to conform to the shape of the body, offering pressure relief and support. It responds to heat and pressure, allowing it to contour to body curves and distribute weight evenly, which reduces pressure points. It also absorbs motion, making it ideal for couples.
POLY FOAMS
Polyurethane foam is a versatile, affordable foam often used in the support and comfort layers of mattresses. Depending on its density, it can range from soft to firm. It provides basic cushioning and support, but it may not be as durable or conforming as memory foam.
